Box Score SALEM - The Roanoke women's soccer team fell to Emory & Henry for just the second time in the history of the series with a 2-1 loss on Tueday. The Maroons fall to 8-3-1, 4-2 ODAC, while the Wasps are now 6-4-1 and 2-3-1 in ODAC play.

Despite the Maroons holding Emory & Henry without a shot in the first half, the Wasp's Bethany Myer found the back of the net in the 46th minute on the team's first shot of the game. Neither team was able to find the back of the net for the rest of the contest.

Roanoke led Emory & Henry in shots 17-1 and also led in corner attempts 6-1. Stephanie Parenteau (Virginia Beach, VA, Kellam) led the Maroons in shots with seven. Carmen Graves (Christiansburg, VA, Christiansburg) followed behind Parenteau with six shots. Both finished with two shots on goal.

The last time that the Maroons lost to Emory & Henry was in 2005, as the Wasps were victorious in a 2-1 contest. Roanoke still leads the all-time series 13-2.

The women's soccer team's next contest is slated for Oct. 8, as they host Eastern Mennonite University at Kerr Stadium. The game is slated to begin at 1:00 p.m.
