SALEM, Va. --- Roanoke defeated Emory & Henry, 3-0 in ODAC Action Tuesday evening at the Bast Center. The Maroons improve to 10-3, 3-1 in the conference, while the Wasps drop to 4-10, 1-4 in the ODAC.
The scores in the match were 25-17, 25-19 and 25-23. Roanoke now holds a slim 25-23 edge over the Wasps in the series.
Maggie Wagner (Roanoke, VA, Cave Spring) led the Maroons with 13 kills and five digs.
Nicci Moats (Blue Ridge, VA, Lord Botetourt),
Kelsey Largen (Roanoke, VA, Cave Spring) and
Kylie Lucas (Verona, VA, Fort Defiance) each had six kills while Lucas had a season-best five service aces to lead Roanoke. Largen and
Emily Martin each had seven kills apiece.
Shannon Stone (Williamsburg, VA, Lafayette) totaled 32 assists and eight digs to lead Roanoke in both categories.
Rachel Hawkins (Winchester, VA, Millbrook) added four kills and two block solos on the night.
The women return to action this Friday, as they host Hollins University in non-conference action. The match is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
