GREENSBORO, NC. --- Roanoke defeated Guilford, 3-0 on the road Wednesday evening in ODAC action. The scores were 30-28, 25-19 and 25-18. The Maroons improved to 9-3, 2-1 in ODAC play, while the Quakers fell to 7-6, 1-2 in the conference.
Roanoke has won 12 of the last 13 meetings against Guilford, dating back to 1998 and now holds a 13-8 advantage in the series. The Maroons avenged an early season defeat against the Quakers, 3-1 in the Averett Invitational.
Kelsey Largen (Roanoke, VA, Cave Spring) moved into seventh all-time in career kills with 680, passing Molly Zigler (Timberville, VA, Broadway). Maggie Wagner (Roanoke, VA, Cave Spring) passed Stefanie Jones (Baltimore, MD, Institute of Notre Dame) to move into sixth place all-time in career digs with 828.
Largen led the way for Roanoke with 15 kills and 18 digs. Wagner added 13 kills and a season-best 23 digs. Emily Martin (Daleville, VA, Lord Botetourt) also recorded 23 digs. Kylie Lucas (Verona, VA, Fort Defiance) and Nicci Moats (Blue Ridge, VA, Lord Botetourt) chipped in six kills apiece. Shannon Stone (Williamsburg, VA, Lafayette) dished out a season-best 41 assists on the contest.
The Maroons return to action Tuesday, Sept. 28th as they host Emory & Henry. The match is set for a 6:30 p.m. start.
