Ashland, Va--- Roanoke fell to Randolph-Macon, 3-0 on the road Saturday afternoon. The scores were 15-25, 17-25, and 8-25. Roanoke fell to 8-3, 1-1 in the ODAC, while Randolph-Macon improved to 11-0, 3-0 in the conference.
The loss snapped an eight-game win-streak for the Maroons, losers of their last 10 matches against the Yellow Jackets. Randolph-Macon now holds a 13-6 lead in the all-time series.
It was the first match this season that Roanoke failed to win a set. Maggie Wagner (Roanoke, VA, Cave Spring) led the way with10 digs and nine of the team's 17 kills. Shannon Stone (Williamsburg, VA, Lafayette) dished out 12 assists and Emily Martin (Daleville, VA, Lord Botetourt) collected 13 digs.
The Maroons will travel to Greensboro, NC on Wednesday Sept. 22nd to take on Guilford. The match is set for a 6:30 p.m. start.
