Wagner, Largen earn All-ODAC Honors in Volleyball

Box Score
Senior Maggie Wagner (Roanoke, VA, Cave Spring) and Junior Kelsey Largen (Roanoke, VA, Cave Spring) were selected to the 2010 Volleyball All-ODAC Team announced this evening at Hollins during the ODAC Tournament. Wagner became the first Maroon since Heather Cook (2004) to be named First-Team All-ODAC, while Largen captured honorable mention honors.
The dynamic outside hitting duo earn spots on the all-conference team for the second time over the last three seasons. Both are local products of Cave Spring High School, where they won two state titles under Knights coach, Tamlyn Tannis. They have been a part of two 20-win seasons with the Maroons under head coach, Blair Trail.
Wagner, who transferred from Div. I Radford University following her freshman year, has been a staple in the lineup since arriving on the Salem campus in the fall of 2008. A team captain, Wagner was named ODAC Player of the Week on Oct. 4 as she became the first Maroon since 2003 and only the fourth player to garner the weekly award. She was named to the Maroon Classic All-Tournament Team and was named MVP of the Emory & Henry Tournament this fall. In her final collegiate season, Wagner has had 16 matches of at least 10 kills and 10 digs. She is ranked sixth in the conference in kills. She finished her career at Roanoke ranked among the top-10 all-time in kills (5th), attacks (3rd) and digs (4th) in only three years with the program.
Largen, who is a three-year starter, completed her junior year ranked among the top-15 all-time at Roanoke in kills (7th), attacks (6th) and digs (13th). She has totaled 212 kills, 29 service aces, 218 digs and 15 kills this season. Named to the 2009 ODAC All-Tournament Team, Largen has produced eight games this season with 10 kills or more, five coming against ODAC competition. In addition, she has had 12 matches with at least 10 digs, including seven of the last eight matches to end the season.
The Maroons finished the season, 21-7, 7-3 in the conference. It is Roanoke's third 20-win campaign over the last four years. Led by Trail, all six of the programs' 20-win seasons have come under the 12-year coaching veteran. The all-time wins leader at Roanoke, Trail is the second winningest active volleyball coach in the ODAC with 224 career victories, trailing only Washington and Lee's Bryan Snyder with 310 victories in 11 seasons.
