SALEM, Va. --- Roanoke defeated Randolph-Macon, 2-0 on Senior Day Saturday afternoon at Kerr Stadium. The Maroons improved to 9-3, 3-1 ODAC while the Yellow Jackets dropped to 4-5-1, 2-1-1 in conference play.

With the win, the Maroons earned its ninth shutout of the season and have won four out of the last five games. The win gave the 2010 senior class their 47^th win of their careers. The six seniors were honored before the game on “Senior Day.”

With the win, Roanoke is now 29-16-6 against R-MC. It is the third-straight shutout win over the Yellow Jackets, outscoring them, 8-0 in that span.

Roanoke outshot Randolph-Macon, 21-6, including a 7-1 shots on goal advantage. The Maroons also held a 7-3 edge in corner kicks.

In the 20^th minute of action, Michael Stark scored a team-high fourth goal of the season off a header from Chris Conover for the eventual game-winner.

Midway through the second half, Jordan Troyer scored his first goal of the season off a corner kick to put away the Yellow Jackets.

Troyer led Roanoke with four shots, two on goal, followed by Carl Leist with four shots, one on goal. AJ Tierce had three shots, one on goal.

Mike Urbanik and Tommy Fisher each totaled two hits each for Randolph-Macon.

Ryan Russell (6-2) earned the win in goal for the Maroons with one save. Matty Rocawich totaled five saves for the Yellow Jackets.

The men will return to action on Wednesday, October 6 as they take on Bridgewater in ODAC action. Game is schedule for a 4 p.m.
