SALEM, Va. --- Roanoke fell to Virginia Wesleyan, 3-1 in ODAC action at the Bast Center on Friday. The Maroons dropped to 8-8, 2-3 in the ODAC while the Marlins improved to 14-3, 2-2 in conference play.
The Maroons fell in four sets with scores of 15-25, 17-25, 25-23 and 22-25.
Shannon Stone (Williamsburg, VA)led the Maroons with 43 assists and 10 digs while
Caitlyn Long (Roanoke, VA, Cave Spring)finished with 22 digs. Long, the school's record-holder in career digs, needs 37 more tomorrow to move into 10
th on the all-time list in ODAC History.
Maggie Wagner (Roanoke, VA, Cave Spring)led Roanoke with 18 kills to go along with 18 digs.
Kelsey Largen (Roanoke, VA, Cave Spring)added 12 kills, five digs and a team-high three service aces.
Kylie Lucas (Verona, VA, Fort Defiance)had a team-best six blocks (three solo) and five kills.
Lynsey Ferris (Roanoke, VA, Northside)had a season-high nine kills.
The women return to action tomorrow as they host both Eastern Mennonite and Randolph-Macon in ODAC action. The Maroons play the Royals at 2 p.m. followed by the Yellow Jackets at 6 p.m.
