Roanoke came out strong and won three straight sets to win the match. The set scores were 25-12, 25-14, and 25-20. A successful team effort, the Maroons tallied a combined 36 kills, 41 digs and 12 blocks.

Coming back from a bad ankle sprain, Lynsey Ferris played as if there were no injury. Ferris put up four solo blocks and two block assists. She also added three kills and two digs to help lead the Maroons to victory.

Junior Caitlyn Long moved from libero to setter in replace of sick freshman Kate Feldman. Long tallied 29 assists, eight digs, and two kills in the win. Long is now only seven digs away from breaking the school record (1073) held by Melissa Slusher.

Libero Emily Martin also contributed eight digs and one of three service aces in the match. Kelsey Largen and Maggie Wagner both had impressive games with seven digs apiece. They both tallied 10 and 13 kills respectively. Wagner had a season high of three block assists.

The Maroons will travel up I-81 again on Tuesday, Sept. 23 to face ODAC rival Bridgewater College. The Eagles are 9-1 on the season and 3-0 in the ODAC. The Eagles lead the series 10-24, yet the Maroons look to get their first win against Bridgewater since 2004. Game time is scheduled for 6:30pm.
