Virginia Beach, Va. --- Roanoke College volleyball split their matches today in a tri-match with Virginia Wesleyan and North Greenville. The Maroons lost to the Marlins, 3-1 in ODAC action but turned around and defeated North Greenville (NCAA Div. II) 3-1 in the second match.
Roanoke (14-3) fell in four games to VWC with scores of 20-25, 25-21, 21-25 and 16-25. They defeated North Greenville in non-conference action, 25-16, 20-25, 25-20 and 25-17.
In game two,
Lindsay Wright had her best match of the season with career-highs of 11 kills and 18 digs along with three blocks. Conner had 11 kills and three blocks while Largen had 10 kills and 18 digs. Wagner had eight kills with 18 digs. Long led Roanoke with 37 assists and 11 digs.
The women return home for a two-match home stand as they battle Meredith on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 6 p.m. They play Emory & Henry in ODAC action the following day at 6:30 p.m. The Maroons are 12-13 against the Wasps and 5-2 against the Angels.
