Box Score Roanoke alum Morris Cregger recently donated a scoreboard from Time Technologies over the Christmas break for the basketball and volleyball programs at the college. It was installed on Jan. 3 and will benefit greatly for all events held in the Bast Center.
Cregger graduated from Roanoke in 1964 as one of the most successful student-athletes in College history. A letterman in four sports, Cregger excelled in basketball, earning All-Mason-Dixon Conference honors and finishing second in career scoring at the time of his graduation.
That on court excellence has been surpassed by Cregger's success off the court. Cregger & Company has developed into one of the most successful privately owned businesses in the Southeast. The plumbing and fixture supply company is headquartered in Columbia, South Carolina.
An active supporter of his alma mater since his graduation, Cregger has served on Roanoke College's Board of Trustees for many years. His vision and leadership during that time has been outstanding. His latest “assist” supports a cause close to his athletic heart. The Bast Center, Roanoke's indoor sports venue, has replaced its 27-year old scoreboards with new state-of-the-art equipment, which includes shot clocks, and a jumbotron message board.
The new system was installed over Christmas break by Time Technologies at a cost of $80,000. Time Technologies installed a similar system at Kerr Stadium last spring. The board itself will enhance all events held in the Bast Center.
