Winchester, VA – The field hockey team defeated Shenandoah, 3-0 in non-conference action on Tuesday afternoon. The women are now 3-7 on the season, already matching last year's win total. Shenandoah remains winless in nine games this season.
Elizabeth Hudson scored the game-winner at the 12:20 mark before
Jessica Perkins and
Mariah Vierti added goals at 43:22 and 48:26 to secure the victory. Perkins also had a team-leading seventh assist of the season on Hudson's goal.
Kathy Santella was credited for the assist on the following goal to make it 2-0.
The Maroons outshot the Hornets 9-2, including taking all four shots in the second half. They also had a 7-5 advantage in penalty corners. Senior
Lindsay Paz was credited with her first shutout of the season.
The women are back in ODAC action on Saturday, Oct. 13 as they travel to Eastern Mennonite. Game time is scheduled for noon.
