Box Score
Greensboro, N.C. -- Jordan Snipes scored a game-high 21 points and Ben Strong added 18 in Guilford College's 77-67 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win over Roanoke College Saturday afternoon. The win keeps Guilford unbeaten at 6-0 (3-0 ODAC), which matches the program's best start since 1967.

The teams battled hard in a physical game that sent Guilford to the free-throw line 28 times. Roanoke (1-5, 0-3 ODAC) suffered its fifth straight loss despite battling back from a 33-24 halftime deficit to take a 44-43 lead with 11:30 left on a Curtis Peery basket. Guilford's Chad Currin stuck a three-pointer at the other end of the floor, which restored the Quakers' lead for good, 46-44. Snipes scored six points during a 13-4 burst that turned a one-point lead into 10 with 6:12 remaining. Roanoke trimmed the deficit to 69-65 on two Aaron Tyson free throws with 2:20 left, but Guilford's Caleb Kimbrough salted the game away at the other end with a three-pointer.

Strong scored 14 of his points in the second half and shared game-high rebounding honors with seven. However, he saw his streak of double-doubles end at four, the longest streak in the Quakers' NCAA Division III history. Kimbrough finished with 11 and five boards. George Neville added 10 points off the bench.

Peery's 14 points led the Maroons, who made 50 percent of their second-half field goals. Junior forward Josh LaPorte had 10 points, seven boards, three assists and four steals before fouling out in the second half. Junior Ben Shrader added 10 points and three assists off the bench. Roanoke's reserves outscored their Guilford counterparts, 29-15.
