LYNCHBURG, VA--The Roanoke College field hockey team had its 2004 season come to a close with a 3-2 loss to Lynchburg College in the semifinals of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference tournament on Saturday in Lynchburg, VA. The Maroons end the year with an 11-9 overall record.

In Saturday's game, freshman Kelly Miller got her first collegiate goal, that on a penalty stroke, to give the Maroons a 1-0 lead. That goal came with 28:35 left on the clock. The Hornets, however, would score the next three goals, including two before the first half time had expired. The third of the goals came with 24 minutes remaining in the contest.

The Maroons cut the gap to just one on a score from Liz Hudson, who on Friday was named the ODAC Rookie of the Year. That goal, however, came with just over three minutes left in the contest. In addition to the two goals, the Maroons got eight saves from freshman Lindsey Paz in goal.
