LYNCHBURG, VA--The Roanoke College field hockey team ran its winning streak over the Hornets of Lynchburg College to two games with a 3-0 victory in Lynchburg, VA on Saturday afternoon. The Maroons, who beat the Hornets in last season's ODAC championship game, get their first regular season win over LC since the 2000 season and also improve to 12-5 and 5-2 in league action. Lynchburg, which has played in each of the past two ODAC championship games, falls to 7-8, 3-4 against league opponents.

Rachel Flint (Towson, MD/Towson) got on the board first for the Maroons, scoring with just about 10 minutes left in the first half. Flint's goal came off of a pass from Emily Hearn (Kennebunk, ME/Kennebunk). Leading 1-0 at the break, the Maroons opened things up in the second with goals from Sarah Sisk (Manchester, MA/Holderness) and Kelly Lyons (White River Junction, VT/Hartford).

Roanoke keeper Beth Lichty (Denver, CO/St. Mary's) had to make just three saves on the afternoon, the only three shots the Roanoke defense allowed all day. The Maroons are back in action on Tuesday with their final regular season home game of the year. The Maroons will host Hollins University at 4:00pm at RC's Elizabeth Campus complex.
