Workman enters his first year at the helm of the Roanoke Cross Country and Track & Field Programs in 2023-24. He was named head coach of the programs on August 1, 2023.

Workman spent the past seven seasons at Washington & Jefferson in Washington, PA, the past five as head coach. While with the Presidents, 18 school records were broken (10 indoor and eight outdoor).

During the 2022-23 seasons, W&J won the Presidents' Athletic Conference Indoor Championship, the first one in program history while also finishing third in the 2023 Outdoor Championship. Clair Anderson, a freshmen qualified for the NCAA Championship in the 1500m after breaking both the school and conference record in the event. For his efforts Workman was named the PAC Indoor Men's Coach of the Year.

Under Workman's supervision, the women's track & field team finished third at both the PAC indoor and outdoor championships during the spring of 2022. The men's team placed fifth during indoor and fourth at the outdoor championships. Nate Sciarro was named the Men's Most Outstanding Field Athlete in both PAC championship meets. Additionally, Sciarro was the Men's Indoor Newcomer of the Year. Jadyn Hartner claimed the PAC Women's Indoor Newcomer of the Year award. 

During the fall of 2021, sophomore Cassie Carr became just the second-ever W&J student-athlete to qualify for the NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championship. Carr placed 21st at the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional to earn a spot at nationals. 

W&J had seven individual champions at the 2021 PAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The women's squad claimed three individual titles and finished as runner-up in the team standings, which was the best finish for the women since 2011. The men's team had four individual champs and placed fourth in the team standings.
 
In the fall of 2019, he led the W&J to a runner-up team finish at the PAC Men’s Cross Country Championship. All five scoring runners earned All-PAC applause, including PAC Newcomer of the Year Paul Collier.

He enjoyed tremendous success during his first year guiding the Presidents (2018-19). Workman was named PAC Coach of the Year after guiding the Men's Cross Country team to its first-ever PAC Championship in late October. Workman oversaw a pair of standout performers during the season, as senior Harley Moyer became the first PAC runner to claim the NCAA Mideast Regional Championship. Moyer would go on to earn All-America honors with a 13th place finish at the NCAA Championship meet.
 
During the spring of 2019, senior Jarrod Webb qualified for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Both Webb and sophomore Krista Sudar were named PAC Field MVPs at the Indoor Meet in February. 

A former team captain and all-conference runner at Presidents' Athletic Conference rival Thiel, Workman set four school records (800-meter relay, sprint medley relay, distance medley relay indoor and outdoor) and was twice named to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team. Additionally, the six-time PAC Academic Honor Roll recipient was the PAC Scholar-Athlete of the Month in February 2010.

The previous five years he was the assistant head cross country and track & field coach at South View High School in Hope Mills, N.C. There, he helped coach and develop workouts for the distance and mid-distance runners as well as endurance sprinters.

During his tenure, South View won the 2015 North Carolina High School Athletic Association 4A Boys Indoor Track & Field state championship and was the 2014 NCHSAA 4A Boys Cross Country state runner-up. His teams produced 13 conference championships, six state qualifying cross country teams, four regional runner-up finishes and four regional team championships.

Workman was the 2014 Mid-South Conference Girls Coach of the Year and coached one State Champion relay team as well as five Individual State Champions, three National Qualifying relay teams along with nine Individual National Qualifiers, three All-State relay teams and 10 Individual All-State runners, over 40 All-Region runners, and more than 100 State Qualifiers between Cross Country and Track.  His runners also broke 31 school records between Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field.

A former WPIAL Team champion and team captain at Mars High School, Workman graduated cum laude from Thiel with a degree in Elementary Education and spent six consecutive semesters on the Dean's List.
