Tommy Joyce joined the Roanoke College golf staff as an assistant coach in the fall of 2023. Coach Joyce comes to Roanoke having spent decades as a PGA professional and working within the golf industry. His vast experiences as a student-athlete, teacher, coach, and mentor will be invaluable to the program.
Tommy earned his PGA membership in 1992 and has worked in golf for 30+ years. As a PGA Member, Tommy has developed and cultivated relationships throughout the Mid-Atlantic and the Northeast. His professional career includes experience as COO of CaddieNow, PGA General Manager and PGA Director of Golf positions. He received the Middle Atlantic’s PGA' highest honor as MAPGA Golf Professional of the Year in 2008. Tommy was inducted into the Roanoke Valley Golf Hall of Fame in 2015.

Coach Joyce is most proud of his work with junior golfers. Tommy was influenced by two great coaches that limitlessly invested their time in building high character junior golfers that love the game. His golf professional Wayne Haley, PGA and his college coach Jack Bell, PGA were his best friends, and he gives them credit for all the success he has had on and off the course. Joyce is determined to pay them back by continuing to invest his time in young athletes and accepted the position at Roanoke College because it is a great opportunity to help athletes be successful on the golf course. But more importantly, it is an opportunity to become a lifelong coach and positive influence for the student-athletes as they prepare for their future.
