Roanoke College

2016-17:  In his senior season with the Maroons, Butts was the top scoring on the team and competed in nine events. In the season opener at the Tom Kinder Memorial, Butts scored a (77-69-146) (9/12-13). At the Roanoke College Invitational Butts placed 6^th overall (4/13). He finished his senior season at ODAC Championships with a (79-73-79-231) placing in the top ten (4/23-25). Butts was named to the All-ODAC Second Team.

2015-16: Named Third Team All-ODAC... finished with an average of 76.71 which was the best average on the team... collected a team-high four top-10 finishes... his lowest round shot was a 70 which he shot the first round at the 2016 Jekyll Island Invitational (3/20)... finished sixth at the Tom Kinder Memorial (9/13) where he shot a 72 the first round and a 73 the second round.

2014-2015: named Third-Team All-ODAC... led the team with scoring average of 75.67, which was also good for sixth in the ODAC tied for first on the team in top-10 finishes (3) and top-five finishes with two best finish at the Shenandoah Invitational (9/20), where he shot 74 and 73 to finish tied for fourth at the Tom Kinder Memorial (9/13), he shot a 73 for both rounds (+2) and finished tied for fifth at the Ted Keller Memorial Invitational (10/13), he finished tied for seventh while shooting 73 and 77 for the two rounds at the Virginia State Collegiate (9/28) and the O’Briant-Jensen Memorial (10/27), he just missed out of the top-10 by finishing in 12th for both of these events... earned Spring 2015 Academic Honor Roll.

2013-2014:Played in ten events this season which tied for a team high...had a scoring average of 79.62 in 21 rounds which was tied for the most amount of rounds for any player on the team...his best tournament was at the Tom Kinder Memorial he shot a 73 (+2) and a 76 (+3) to finish seventh in the tournament (9/14)...at the Hampden-Sydney Invitational, he shot a two round score of 153 to finish 11th in the tournament and lead the team to fourth place finish (9/23-24)...at the Ted Keller Memorial, he shot a two round score of 152 to finish 12th in the tournament (10/20-21).,

High School: Attended Salem High School, where he led the Spartans to the 2012 Class AA State Championship, their first in 31 years... played for longtime coach Thad Snyder... had lowest score in Region IV tournament's final round to claim a state tournament berth for the first time in six years for the Spartans.

Personal: son of Dennis and Leigh Ann Butts. Intends to major in business... was a member of the National Honor Society in High School... earned the 2013 Dave Lamanca Memorial Golf Scholarship.
