The Short Story: The Roanoke College women's golf team opened their season at the Shenandoah University Fall Invitational, finishing play Sunday at the two-round event, placing 15th overall.  
  
Inside the numbers:  

• Allyson Childs aced the Maroons with a two-round score of 168 to tie for 31st in the 91-golfer field. She was under par in each of the last two rounds with scores of 70 and 71.  
•  Kendall West tied for 58th with a 179.  
• Three of the Maroons decreased their score in the second round as follows: Eleanor Flanagan –8, Childs –2, and West –1.
