DANVILLE, Va. - The Roanoke College men's tennis team battled in singles play against Averett but were unable to come away with enough to get the victory.

• Emiliano Ramirez won Roanoke's lone point of the day in three sets at the No. 2 spot. He improves to nine wins on the campaign with the victory. 

• Federico Maccari and Luis Henriquez almost got the best of their opponents at No. 1 and No. 3 singles but both fell in the third set. 

• Nolan Macedo almost forced a third set out of the No. 4 slot but came up just short. 

• Ramirez and Henriquez combined at No. 2 doubles for the closest match of the day.
