Men's tennis picks up commanding victory over Randolph-Macon

SALEM, Va. - The Roanoke College men's tennis team earned their third sweep of the season as they defeated the Randolph-Macon Yellow Jackets on Sunday.

The Highlights 

  • The victory is RC's third sweep of the season and second in ODAC play. It is the first time since the 2021-22 season that the Maroons have swept on three occasions in a campaign. 

  • The last time that Roanoke swept the Yellow Jackets was during the 2010-11 season. 

  • Jacob Nichols advanced to double digit wins with his singles victory at No. 5. He is now 10-6 on the season. 

  • Federico Maccari is right behind Nichols for the team lead in victories after picking up his ninth of the year in the match. 

  • Ian Michel nabbed his first singles victory of the campaign and as a Maroon while playing in the No. 6 spot today. 

  • Maccari and Julio Marques along with Nichols and Jackson Wagner continued to be tied for the team lead in doubles wins after the pairs each took their sixth win. 

Up Next 
The Maroons host their last home ODAC contest of the season on Wednesday (Apr. 16) as they face-off with Lynchburg at 2:00 pm.
