The Lead: Roanoke traveled to Greensboro to face the Pride in a dual match on Wednesday night. Roanoke took five weight classes, two by major decision and one by fall, on their way to a 20-18 win on the road. With the win, Roanoke ran their dual mark to 3-3 for the season.
Highlights:
- 149 – Jarrod Pominville picked up an 8-1 decision.
- 157 – Gavin Lloyd built a 6-0 advantage heading into the third period and put away his opponent with a 12-3 Major decision.
- 165 – Andrew McDougal was down 2-0 early in the match before turning the tables and building a 5-3 edge before picking up a fall at the 2:49 mark.
- 174 – Sawyer Dereszynski earned a takedown in the opener and built his advantage to 10-0 after two periods before wrapping up his match with a 13-2 Major decision.
- 184 – Jack Dyess almost ended his match early with a 2-point near fall. Leading 8-3 in the third period, Dyess would escape and record a pair of takedowns to help secure the 14-7 decision.
