Roanoke College

Football was Ramsey's life while attending Roanoke College from 1927 to 1931.  Played fullback and was an extremely hard-nosed runner.

Ramsey was team captain of the 1931 team and scored seven touchdowns that season.  He was selected to the Coaches’ All-State team - the only small college player to be chosen on the first-team. 
He played baseball and captained the 1930 team and participated in basketball for a year along with running track.

In 1931, Ramsey was elected the Most Outstanding Athlete at Roanoke College.
