Roanoke College

Kummer was a member of the basketball state championship team in 1947-48, which had a 16-1 record and he was the team’s high scorer. 

As a guard, Kummer helped run a potent offense and sparked a defense that was ranked as the second best in the country in 1947-48.  As a sophomore, he was co-captain of the squad.

Member of the Monogram Club and Sigma Chi Fraternity 

After graduation, he stayed active in athletics, participating in basketball, bowling, softball, and golf.
