Roanoke College

Member of the cross country and track teams, Meincke earned 12 varsity letters.  An All-American cross country man, he placed fourth in the National Championship Meet in Omaha 1956.  In outdoor track, he set records in 880, mile and two-mile events.  Meincke also set records in these events in the 1957-58 indoor season. 

He was anchor man on the victorious Sprint Medley relay at the Evening Star games in Philadelphia in 1958 and on the Distance Medley team in 1957 at VMI.
