Roanoke College

One of the finest runners ever at Roanoke College, Planavsky lettered four-straight seasons and served as captain his senior year. 

He tied the school-record for the 220-yard dash and tied the Alumni Field track record.  In 1965 and '66, with three team members, he produced school records in the 880 yard relay, the sprint medley relay, and mile relay.

Set the school record for the 440 yard dash and won the 220 and 440 yard dash in the Virginia Small College Meet, setting a state record in the 440
