For 30 years, Maroon athletes have been served by Dr. Bertram Spetzler as team physician and medical director of the accredited athletic training education program. Spetzler has been with the Maroons since 1981, working to keep the program accredited while supervising more than 75 athletic training interns. Spetzler, a visible supporter of Roanoke athletics, also was available as a volunteer physician during NCAA championship events.
